"map contacts" not showing up on Actions list for members

From what I can tell from the documentation and forums, there should be a "Map Contacts" option in the Actions drop-down menu in Find Members. I only see:
Batch update...
Delete Members
Export Members
Send Email to Contacts

I think my mapping and geocoding is set up correctly to Google Maps since I can see a map of an individual member's location by clicking Map while viewing an individual member's contact info.

What am I missing?
Thank you for your patience, I'm new to CiviCRM and Drupal.

can u give us the links to the docs and forum which state this?

i'm pretty sure the "map contacts" link only appears in Find Contacts, not the other searches

Oops. I see the difference. When I read the documentation here...

...I was equating contacts to members, which I can see is not the same. When I did a find contacts search it did give me that option. Thank you for the quick reply.

The reason I was thinking "members" is that I'm trying to figure out how to embed a google map into a web page a map of our members' locations. It seems like that would be possible, but I can't find any documentation on it.

If it is possible, can you point me in the right direction?

You should be able to find a list of contacts with memberships using advanced search & then map them from there. You could add them to a group or create a smart group in order to be able to do it more quickly in future

So I understand that this will give me a map of the selected contacts/members that I can view. But what about making that map visible to visitors to our site? (hopefully just embedded in a web page)

Have a play with the 'enable mapping for this profile' checkbox in the advanced settings of a profile

http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group?action=update&id=1&context=group

You can limit a profile to a group which is a pretty common way of constructing a members directory (the other popular method is using Views)
