The tabs on the "edit contact" form can not be translated with .po files, only through editing templates. Or are there other options?

Argh, good catch, they’re not localisable at the moment. Filed CRM-6720 to track this, I should fix it later this week. Thanks for catching this!

Actually, these are held in the database and are localisable under the …civicrm/admin/optionValue?reset=1&action=browse&gid=16 URL.
