Make event participants members
August 25, 2010, 02:05:38 pm
We hold an event where all of the participants receive a 1-year membership with their registration.

I have my list of participants who all have contact records and I'm wondering if there is a way to create memberships for them all in a batch.

I tried doing a batch update via profile, but it thinks about it for a few minutes and then goes to a blank page.

Any help would be appreciated!

Using batch update you can only update existing memberships.

I think the accepted method is to export your participants & import them as memberships (for a one-off). Writing custom code would be the 'all-the-time' solution.

I would probably use civimigrate to do it off a view but you need to have a reasonable amount of knowledge before that becomes an easier option
