Issue with Google Maps link and countries
August 26, 2010, 01:48:18 am
A minor issue I discovered in our project with the Google Map stuff:
The Google Map link only works when you have entered the country. However, in the site preferences setting I can select not to show or enter country. In that case the Google Map link will never work. My solution would be to have the default country code (entered in the localization settings) as the default country code in the table civicrm_address, so the Google Map links works even if you only use one country and do not want your users to always have to enter the same country.

This should be added to the documentation!

thanks for confirming what I just spend days on getting to work.
I don't understand why CiviCRM is not populating this field by itself when I have only 1 country in my list of available countries, and it is also the one set as default.
Since we are a very local organisation it is pointless to ask people to select a country since it will never be any other then the default one.

Dice, I agree it would be really nice. As you might have noticed, CiviCRM is true open source. This means we grow by adding community development and funded projects donating back. Are you in a position to fix this? You would really help a lot of other CiviCRM users?

Dice:

the wiki is community editable. Can you update the documentation so other people are aware of this and dont spend days on trying to make it work

thanx
