HI - newbie question.

This is the first time (i recall) we have need to use the Synch Users option in Admin/Manage

Based on wiki http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC32/Synchronize+Users-to-Contacts and general knowledge I was expecting the following.

A lookup would occur between emails in the UF Table in Drupal and the CiviCRM DB and would make a match where emails matched, and where the CiviCRM record was an Individual. If no match for a Drupal User was found then a new CiviCRM record would be made.

Here is the outcome from a 3.2.1 set up.

Synchronize Users to Contacts completed. Checked 1028 user records. Found 6 matching contact records. Created 1022 new contact records.

That seemed  v low set of matches to me. So checked Civi records that had just been Modified (date of Change Log) (note no other work is being done on this DB at this time)

Modified Date - greater than or equal to "August 29th, 2010 12:00 AM"

Which seemed to suggest some misreporting somewhere. Further digging.

CMS User ...AND...
Modified Date - less than or equal to "August 29th, 2010 11:59 PM"

Which suggested that there were more like 100 matches, which made more sense. But spotted some were Organisations.

So, two things seem potential problems (or I am just way out of line)

1/ the Synch User report seems to incorrectly state the number of matches.

2/ the Synch seems to be made to Orgs, when this was, I thought, a CiviCRM 'no no'.
