It is not that CiviCRM can't handle it. I guess I want a more simple easy to use solution. Something created for someone who is not really a coder or whatever other term you use. Something I can install and start using to do my job without creating another "job" for myself.

Vendors have many solutions for car dealers. But I wanted to try to be progressive and do the "online" marketing thing for myself (not my dealer). Without open source I can't do it, due to funding. And without lot's of experience and understanding of these types of applications, I can't do it either.

Vendors charge dealers an outrageous amount of money for these things. I think it is highway robbery.

I just want to get leads from my own website (leads for myself - not my dealer), track where they may be in the "cycle", have useful content for visitors who know me (previous customers - referrals etc) such as an "online garage to track factory recalls, service records etc.

If I could find someone capable of doing something of this magnitude, and we could reproduce it fairly easily for a fraction of the cost, that person (and hopefully myself) could make a very nice living.

Check out http://ecarlist.com/ to see a vendor who does alot of what I am talking about. However, I cannot afford this on my own. This is why I am looking into open source.
