1. If I try to edit a group I have previously created, e.g. by adding a parent or changing the group type check boxes, I cannot save the modified record - I get a message that the group already exists.

2. If I try to delete a group I have previously created, and to which no contacts have been added, I get an http500 page and the group is not deleted.

I'm logged in as a Drupal administrator and i've ticked every box in the Drupal permissions list but to no avail.

I'm a CiviCRM newbie and setting up some groups within a new install has been the first thing I attempted, so can anyone advise:
a) whether these are known bugs or
b) whether there are configuration settings i need to check.

Is there any way of getting debugging info that would be more informative than the http500?

And final question: if I can't get this sorted is there a documented procedure for an uninstall of civiCRM that will leave Drupal in a clean and consistent state?

Hi Pete,

Looks like they could be related. I subsequently found a "Your mySQL client has run out of memory" message in my database log relating to the delete statement which might explain the other poster finding something working in the demo system but not on their own. I need to work out the implications (I'm new to mySQL & PHP too...) and see if I can tweak the allocation or maybe lose some other contrib modules.

Can a mod move my posts to the other thread?
