Problem adding Relationships in Contacts

Hi there,

I'm running CiviCRM with Joomla 1.5.20; installation was smooth, and everything seems to be functioning fine except for Relationships (ha!).

When I click Search on Find Target Contact to add a Relationship for a contact, the only response I get back is "Loading data from server".

I also am getting the following error message with IE8:

 Message: Object doesn't support this property or method

Code: 0

Oh, I forgot to add - I am running php 5.2.4...forgot to update my profile, sorry :)

Can you reproduce on demo.civicrm.org ?

Yes, the same problem happens in the demo version.

I go to Search, leave the I scroll down, click on a contact, then on the relationships tab.  I click add a new one, select a contact from the search field, click on search. That's when the error occurs...

does this work on a non IE browser? can u try with firefox? might help narrow it down

Ok, both the demo and my site work fine in FireFox, so it must be an issue with IE8...?

yes, an issue with IE8. Our knowledge / resouces on IE8 is limited / minimal. if you can track and help figure out what is happening and why (and submit a patch) that would be great
