Batch Update Via Profile wipes out Display Name field

We're having issues with the Display Name field being wiped out when we use Batch Update Via Profile using certain profiles. In all cases, we can fix the issue by doing another batch update using a profile with just the name and address fields. One of the profiles that causes this problem has the following fields:

- Volunteer Interests (Individual)
- Current Employer (Individual)
- Job Title (Individual)
- Street Address (Contact)
- City (Contact)
- State (Contact)
- ZIP (Contact)
- Phone (Contact)
- Email (Contact)

Any ideas / suggestions? Thanks!
