tags not available in basic or advanced search

IN our basic search only name, contact type and group fields are available. The tag field doesn't show.

The same problem in advanced search.

I checked search settings but i don't see any option there for the tag-field. In the sitepreferences screen tags is checked (but i think that only affects your search results)

i noticed that there is a custom search /civicrm/contact/search/custom?csid=3&reset=1 which shows the tags field. Any ideas?

I now noticed tags aren't showing up in de contact editform.

Any ideas?

upgraded to 3.2.3

now i can edit the tags and select per tag to apply it to use with contacts.

That makes them appear again ...
