How to allow user to buy quantity x of product y

I have been trying to understand how I can allow a user to purchase a quantity of something.  For example we want sell tickets to a dinner and allow the purchase of more than one ticket.

Help would be appreciated

Many thanks.  I am aware of the functions of CiviEvent but I had missed the fact that Price Sets enabled the entry of a quantity.  I don't know how I failed to see this.
