Payment Processor Error message: 10558: Currency Not Supported for Card Type
September 09, 2010, 03:29:27 pm
We are getting this error message when users try to make a payment with an AMEX card. We are using PayPal Pro, CDN$ currency. CiviCRM 2.1.6, Drupal 6.19.

Not sure how to troubleshoot this. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks in advance,
Cheryl

Thank you for the quick reply! I just found this on the PayPal site:

"Here's what you need to do before October 13, 2010 to be able to keep accepting American Express transactions: If you're a U.S. merchant using either PayPal Website Payments Pro or PayPal Virtual Terminal to process direct credit card transactions, you'll need to establish a direct contractual relationship with American Express."

further ...

"Starting July 13, 2010, the new agreement with American Express also restricts certain business categories from accepting American Express through Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal merchants (U.S. only). Only 1% of Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal merchants are affected. If you have not already received emails from PayPal explaining this restricted business status, then your merchant account is not affected by this change."

I guess we won't be accepting AMEX anymore.
