Extended upcoming events module for joomla! 1.5
September 13, 2010, 04:58:28 am
Hi

We made some improvments for the civi_event Modul for joomla. We added some parameters as you can see in the image below. Compare the screens from the old and the new settings. Now you can change a lot of new things and add new templates (Layouts for the module) very easy.

If you are interested please download an test this first version
civiEvent Module for civiCRM, Beta

Thank you for posting any comments here as feedback.

PS: Do not forget that you can integrate this module in any Joomla! Article with the built in plugin : {loadposition POSITIONNAME}

That's great.
We need to centralize a location to allow collaborative development of this and other Joomla/Civi extensions. Let me organize that. I made a few changes as well that I don't believe I've posted to the wiki. So let me take your changes and integrate mine, and then get back on this thread with feedback on providing a way to continue working on this in a better way.

some folks have been using github to distribute their changes / mods. might be worth considering that

This does not seem to be working with civicrm 3.2.

Specifically the events do not seem to be read by the module. (if that makes any sense.)

On the site that I installed it on, the module never showed any events.

Hi
what would it take to make this module work with j1.6?
It works but breaks the template when clicking on an event.

hi
you can see what I mean here:
http://boite.com.au/joom16/index.php?Itemid=169

clicking on, say, Test event in the module, brings up the event but breaks the joomla template.
I am using one from joomlart, but it also breaks Beez.

thank you

thommo: i'm not seeing anything odd with the template. nothing seems to be broken. i'm using Chrome. what exactly are you seeing that is broken?

if you're referring to fonts -- you may need to do some additional tweaking to your stylesheet as Civi uses some slightly different html tag constructions for the title, etc. than other joomla components. but that's not the result of the module -- its the civi stylesheet.

in the settings for the module, there's an option to use modal windows
turn that off.

looks like there's either a conflict with the js on your site, or we need to restructure how the modal popup is configured in J1.6

I can't find any settings for modal windows.
There is just position and menu etc. but no specific module settings
