Using Drupal 6.19

Attempted upgrade from 3.1.5 to 3.2.3 failed.

Attempted to roll back to 3.1.5. Restored old CiviCRM, restored old database.

Now pages consist of <div id="crm-container" lang="

Smarty error: [in CRM/common/drupal.tpl line 30]: [plugin] function smarty_modifier_truncate() not found in /var/www/vhosts/hfh/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/Smarty/plugins/modifier.truncate.php (core.load_plugins.php, line 73) in /var/www/vhosts/hfh/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093.

What does the Smarty error mean?
How do I fix it?

Thanks, cos

Did you see success message on upgrade.

Did you try clearing templates_c directory after upgrade?
