Dynamic Filter for Views
September 14, 2010, 08:14:49 am
Hi All,

I'm pretty new to both CiviCRM and Views, and am a bit stumped. I can successfully setup views that access my CiviCRM contact list, but what I would like to do is implement a searchable staff directory as a view (i.e., I don't want any public access to /civicrm/*). So, could anyone point me in the right direction on how to build a dynamic filter that filters a view based on a received search query from the standard Drupal search form?

Thanks for any assistance,
Jim

Hi jwilliams,

I hope you have found your answer by now...but just in case you have not - here is what I'd do:

In the Edit View, select Page Display and click on Filters + to add CIVICRM filter and then click on Expose button.  This will give you options for operator and value for your filtering.

I hope this helps.
