Emailing users upon profile completion

Anyone know of a hook or custom code snippet that will email the user when they fill out a profile?

I'm looking for something that will send an auto-email to users after they signup for our newsletter (which is a stand-alone profile form).

I need to do this as well. In my case, the profile is for the organisation the user works for. I need a way to send an email thanking them for filling out the profile.

you can do this via hook_civicrm_postProcess on the profile form

this requirement has come up a fair bit. So hiring a developer to write a module that accomplishes this would help your project and the community a whole lot
