Add tab to contact tab strip and change content of Summary and Relationship tabs

Hi all,

I've been reading thru doco for a few days now.

I've been asked to chase up info regarding:
Add a tab to contact tab strip
And change the content of Summary and Relationship tabs.

I can add custom fields but can't seem to find where to add a custom(?) tab.
Or where to edit the contents of the summary and Relationship tabs.

Any positive constructive suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any keywords or help pages reference would be great.

hmmmm...

Looks like that doco relates to programming modules.

Unless I've missed something.  Which could certianly be the case.


I was hoping there was a way to do this via the built in admin interface using setup forms/templates/properties.

If thats the nature of civiCRM then OK.

Just want to be sure there isn't an easier way to add a tab and update tab contents.

another strange one.

I wanted to see if I could work my changes into another custom group but my custome group won't actually show in the ...civiCRM/admin/Custome/group page

I fill in all the fieds but the Same just returns to the group page without any acknowledgement.
And the new group does NOT show under the Group title.

(I have admin rights. And am using FireFox 3.5.13)

The next instruction in the help is to fill in the Cust Data Fields.
    No instructions on how to get there so I've deduced the Cust Data Fields page should be displayed.
    Which is not happening.

Any suggestions?

In case you are meaning a Tab which shows a Group of Custom Data fields - yes you can set that in the Field Group settings. But I suspect you are trying more complex arrangements

You're probably wrting about tab/in line property.

I'll try that as soon as I get my group to show.
Perhaps there is a limit to the number of custom groups?
Doesn't sound right to me.
Or perhaps the page 2 isn't showing up?
I've added a number of new custom Groups but none are showing up inteh Group Title list.

Yes, the tab property makes your custom data show as a separate tab in the contact strip. What do you mean exactly with changing the content of the Summary and Relationship tabs? And I would read through the book once more, step by step. 99% of the questions you are pouring in now are actually answered in the documentation :-)

I am not clear what you are referring above. Are you in Administer > Customise > Custom Data "Add set of Custom Fields"?
