Mass Mailing: it automatically generates a FirstName@emailAddress???
September 22, 2010, 02:35:01 am
I think I am encountering the strangest error ever. I recently switch a web host, and most things are fixed except when I sent a mass mailing to a group of 500 people (luckily), it says they are all bounced.  So I look at one of the bounced email, and I noticed something strange at the beginning.  Basically I have a contact record of John Smith <john@john smith.com>. But the bounced email said I was trying to send 3 emails to:
- John.e.hbfdefgcj@myMailServerAddress.com
- Smith.e.hdssehbc@myMailserveraddress.com
- john@john smith.com

I am running 3.2.3 and using the default mail() function. I will switch to SMTP and try one more time tomorrow.

Any input?
