Searching from the front-end
September 22, 2010, 04:15:00 pm
Hi, I have three contact types that I use: Individual (built in), and then two others (based on Organization) called 'Indigenous' and 'Peak Body'.  Two questions:
1) Do people generally enter new contacts through the back-end?  It looks like the back-end administration options are a lot more powerful.
2) When searching from the front end, how can I set the search results so that the contact type displays.  e.g is it 'Indigenous', or 'Peak Body'.

Many thanks.

In general, organization "staff" use back-end screens. Front end are more for "constituent self-service". You might want to spend some time reading the online book - esp the Profiles section ....

You should be able to include Contact Subtype as a field to expose in your profile listings.
