We have about 700 members in different business categories.  We'd like to consolidate these down into main categories with sub-categories that are all searchable (for example:  the main category might be 'Automotive' and under that, we want 'Auto Sales-New', 'Auto Rentals', 'Auto Repairs', 'Auto Service', etc.)  That way, instead of people having to search through 700 different business categories, they can start their search from 25-30 major categories and drill down into the data as needed. What is the simplest way to set this up? Any suggestions would be welcomed.  Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Nothing out of the box exposed to the end user.

I'd use tags to manage your categories (so one member can belong to several cat), and develop a custom module using crmAPI to do the navigation through the categories and list your members.

This rather simple developments using the api, I'd suggest you to read the book
