Does the Drupal Views Calendar have a Timezone bug with CiviEvent?

At least two people (myself one) have noticed that when a timezone is set in Drupal DateTime, it causes an improper offset of the CiviCRM StartDate and the event to show up in the wrong calendar box (one day behind or forward).

This has been reported to the Calendar module maintainer:

Is it a CiviCRM bug perhaps?  Is CiviEvent not grabbing the TimeZone setting?

My current short-term fix is to change the timezone, but this is a not an appropriate long-term solution, as a correct timezone is necessary for other functions.

Not sure if this is Views / Calendar / CiviCRM bug. Currently civicrm does not store any timezone.
