Apache Hosting Requirements for Drupal 5.x and CiviCRM 1.9
November 16, 2007, 11:30:33 am
Greetings everyone!

we are just getting into using CiviCRM with Drupal.

Our hosting company is able to meet all of the sever requirements.  However, they are wondering if Apache 2.0 is a true requirement to run CiviCRM.  Some of our members here are using Apache 1.3, which is what our hosting company is using.

are there others here having success with Apache 1.3?

Your comments are much appreciated!

Mike

I'm pretty sure that we dont use anything apache specific. On our servers we use Apache 2.0 / 2.2 so our experience (and hence support) is limited to those versions

Thanks for getting back to me Lobo.

I am hoping other users can share if they are using Apache 1.3.

If I had more clear information, I would be in a position to go with Drupal / CiviCRM on a big project.  I really don't want to change hosting providers, so I guess I will have to look at typo3 that has very clear server requirements.

We are using CiviCRM with Apache 1.3 and have not experienced any issues.

Thanks Jerry!

This is great news!  Let's see if we get a few more comments.  Apache 1.3 might just be enough to drive CiviCRM.

Thanks again,

Mike

I'm not sure how to tell the Apache version.  A phpinfo() gives:
Apache Version: Apache
Apache Release: 10336100
Apache API Version: 19990320

Not sure which one to look at. So far Drupal and CiviCRM seem to work fine, still working on getting CiviMail to work, but at this point not a version issue.

Hi

How far did you proceed with integrating CIVICrm into TYPO3?
It would be good to know as we are just working on the integration of CIVICrm into TYPO3 too.

Thanks a lot

Andi
