EmailProcessor shows running, but not processing
September 30, 2010, 12:36:49 pm
There are no new contacts being generated, or cases (that I can tell) after upgrading to 3.2.2

Running the task manually shows all the good folders being selected and parsed, but "got to the end of the mailbox" doesn't take any from the mail folder into civi.

Anyone else having tricky times? There were many posts about a blank message, but I'm getting full confirmation, no error_log action. Which seems odd. Like it's running fine.

Maybe I forgot something, and http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC32/Autofiling+email+activities+via+EmailProcessor only deals with the main things I've done.

There were some emails in the Ignored subfolder, but having deleting those, no change. Is there another place for hard deletes?

I have to assume the emails are being ignored, but I thought I'd rectified that. Still no new activities, but the EmailProcessor shows all the folders it's checking. Pretty stumped here.

We tried adding a new mail account and testing a message to be imported by the EmailProcessor and running the task manually resulted in this:

"fetching 50 messages retrieving message 1 Failed Processing: testing civi inbound. Reason: Invalid Target Contact Id setting 1 as seen and moving it to the ignored mailbox"

Invalid Target Contact ID yields no results in a search. Any thoughts? I'm going to keep searching for a reason for this.

We've found the origin of the error, for the most part. In the file /api/v2/Activity.php, on line 269 (we're running civicrm 3.2.2) is an error message call for "Invalid %1 Contact Id".

Further up, it shows that there are three values in an array of contact Ids. One of which is 'target', which is where I'm assuming we're getting our error from. It seems our emailProcessor doesn't like the target Id of our incoming emails. Any of them, it seems, both new or existing contacts.

Is the 'target' the user that inputs the data? IE: if this is done as a crontask, is the apache server the target?

Also: is there a way to verify the ID or name of the target id?

Just hoping for a little nudge, here. :)

Did you ever figure this out? I am having this same error message with CiviCRM 3.2.4:

connecting to localhost, authenticating as foo@bar and selecting INBOX mailboxes found: INBOX.Trash, INBOX fetching 50 messages retrieving message 1 Failed Processing: Re: Request for Interview: Kabissa Volunteering. Reason: Invalid Target Contact Id setting 1 as seen and moving it to the ignored mailbox got to the end of the mailbox

Cheers,

Tobias
