suppressing the "Your transaction has been processed successfully." msg

I'm trying to suppress the "Your transaction has been processed successfully. " message on the thank you part of the contribution page.

Anyone know if it's possible and how to do it? I couldn't find anything in the documentation or the forum when I did a search.

Do you want to explain a bit more about the logic of what you are trying to achieve?

Basically I'm setting up a signup page for a free newsletter.  I used the contribute system for the membership stuff, and unchecked all the spots involving donations or money.

Basically people sign up to join the free newsletter membership.

Is there an easier way?

is their membership for a specific time period?

if not just use a profile with custom data or an exposed 'public' group for people to join.

setting up for newsletters is well covered in the book, link at top of page

You mean http://en.flossmanuals.net/civicrm?

I've been looking through it, and I'm not seeing anything about newsletters.  I'm sure it's in there. I just have no idea what section.

You either use a Profile and get people to join a Group directly, or use a Custom Field and build a Smart Group off it - try this post http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic=15395.0

Thanks.  I've been reading it, and I'm not really getting it but  I'll try reading it again tomorrow after a night's sleep.
