Two separate databases Joomla - CiviCRM

I understand I can set up Joomla and CiviCRM in 2 different databases. Will that speed up the loading of the web pages?

I see no reason why it should speed up your site at all. It's useful for other purposes, such as backups and upgrades etc. But it shouldn't really affect the speed.
