No civicrm icons after install

Hello, I have installed civicrm 3.2.3 on my joomla 1.5.20 the install was successful but when I open civicrm from the components drop down menu a

page opens, there is the joomla tool bar but no civicrm icons by which to engage the civicrm program.

I have cleaned the various cashes on my server and browser.  

Any help would be appreciated.
