Problem with Send Mail after upgrading to 3.2.3
October 03, 2010, 05:46:23 pm
If I go to this page...

http://mysite.org/civicrm/admin/setting/smtp&reset=1

... which is the outgoing mail config page, the settings are correct and when I click "Save and Send Test Email" it works correctly.

However, if I try to use the Send Mail action on a civi individual record, I get an error as follows...

"An error occurred when CiviCRM attempted to send an email (via SMTP)...

The mail library returned the following error message:Invalid address spec. Unclosed bracket or quotes..."

The addresses in question all appear to be valid to me.  I tried it on a few.

Any thoughts?

Did you ever get this resolved?

I am getting same behavior.

Version 3.2.
Can send test mail, but cannot send a new mail (via contacts).
BTW, the when I try to configure the outbound mail (SMTP), the page takes forever to load. Same when I update and save or save and send test mail. I wonder what would be causing this.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Try using php() instead of smtp see if it works better.

This chapter should be able to help you on the configuration:
