Referring to http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1743.0.html about Civimember, Each Membership Type is associated w/ a specific Organization. Any contact of type "Organization" can potentially be a "membership organization".

I am trying to implement this for an organization that is the main organization. It does have regional directors and is divided by regions, but I do not want to select an organization type when I setup the membership types. Is there a way around this. If not this should be selectable as a feature we can turn off.

Otherwise it seems that I would have to setup ten individual membership types for the 10 regions of North America and this does not allow for international members we have in the EU and middle east at least easily.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can accomplish this.

We are trying to implement this for long term membership management and possibly other things such as events in the future. I am currently running a test platform on my own computer so it is not live on the site yet. I want people who become members to have access to membership only areas of Joomla when they sign up on the website. Then we can automate some of the membership renewal activites and such.

Not sure i follow. What is the 'head' organisation? Make this the 'organisation' that your members join.
