Duplicate registration

Hi,

I have a person that registered twice to the same event (same email, first & last). The default rule is supposed to check on that, but ain't working.

Am I missing something or is the dedupe check not applied to civievent registration ?

X, don't know how to fix this, but adding 0.02 cents....

I found that on 3.2.3 an admin can use "add to event" feature for search results and this can also create duplicate registrations.  Contacts who are already registered will be registered a 2nd time for the same event.  Seems like event registration duplicate checking is turned off and/or doesn't exist yet.

I think it should be set that no matter where the registration come from (admin, online by the participant) you shall not have more than one participant (for the same event) per contact.

What do you think ? Can you find a counter example where John Doe should be registered twice at the same event ? ie. bug of feature ?

We took the analogy with the groups or tags or surveys: you can't have the same contact that belong to the same group twice (got the same tag twice, sign the same petition twice)

IMO, doesn't make sense to let a contact be participant twice to the same event. ie. bug, not feature
