Offline contributions missing fields
October 06, 2010, 07:21:43 am
One of our clients often uses personal campaign pages for events that they run, and many times at the event, they collect checks for the people who wish to sponsor others. These are not pay-later trxns, these are ones that don't exist in the DB yet. When it comes time to record the donations in Civi, they go to the "new contribution" form, but there is no way to record that money came in against any specific contribution page, or against a PCP if that contrib page allows for personal campaign pages.

Is there any reason why this isn't an option (other than no code exists yet)? Should the workflow be something else? If they don't allow pay-later transactions on a contrib page (and thus couldn't use a diff browser to fill out the pcp donation page), I'm not really sure what a good workaround would be.

I have raised this PCP issue myself.  My client would be willing to co-sponsor development of this feature, as they need it also.  Senior developers have estimated a cost between $500 and $1000 for the upgrade.  If you want to help me search out more co-sponsors, the cost for each of us would be reduced accordingly.

Thanks for letting me know! Let me contact my client and see if they would be interested in sponsoring this too, or wether my company can help do the work and give it back to core.

Assuming it costs $1000 to sponsor this feature, how much of that is your client willing to pay? All of it? Half? $100? Some other amount? I am trying to figure out the minimum number of co-sponsors we need.
