Trouble installing on development site
May 07, 2007, 06:55:05 am
I'm trying to install CiviCRM in Joomla, using SiteGround for hosting.
I keep getting the white screen, and their tech support ran into problems too. They think it's because the "live site" setting in Joomla is the IP address/directory on the host, rather than the domain name. The site is in development, so I haven't moved the domain name over yet. Has anyone else run into that problem? Have any suggestions for a workaround?

As far as I know, using an IP address should be fine - as long as CIVICRM_UF_BASEURL has the correct value (civicrm.settings.php file).

For "white screen" problems, a good first step is to check the Apache error log for specific errors.
