How to get admin-only visibility for a field?
November 19, 2007, 12:58:28 pm
I'd like to set up a field as part of the user profile which is visible only to
admins.  How can I do this?

(I only see options for making it required or not; editable or visible-only; and
visibility that can be restricted in various ways, but which never allows you
to hide a field from the contact to whom it pertains.)

What am I missing here?

Oops-- I think I can answer my own question now.  You just add a custom field, and then don't include it in the profile that is visible to the user.   :-\

(I am just coming from way too long working on the drupal-side of things, where when you add a field to a data-type, you don't usually get the ability to hide it from certain user-roles without installing special modules to do so.)

But how this field can be edited from front-end by owner/admin?

Not sure we understood your question. Can you please start a new forum topic and explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish
