My name is Andrew and I work at the UK charity, Alpha International. Recently we have implemented CiviCRM for some of our international offices and we are also going to implement CiviCRM for our French office in mid November.

We would like to customise CiviContribute so we can incorporate a more advanced Fiscal Receipting model, which is required by the French Government. The headline requirements are;

• each gift would need a sequential number. This could be the unique ID in the database, but currently I can’t search on ID and we would like this to appear on receipts and also in reports.
• The option of a PDF receipt and thank you letter that have a default format, but that can be customised, which also display the donation amount in French words as well as numbers.

We thought this would be a custom module, but we are open to new ideas. Has anyoneimplemented any CiviCRM projects in France before with CiviContribute? For more information please contact me @ andrew.godfrey@htb.org.uk.

We pretty much always add the unique contribution ID to our on-line & off-line receipts e.g.

Invoice/Receipt No.{$contributionID}
Contact No.{$contactID}

I did think I'd submitted a patch to add the contribution ID to the CiviReport but I can't see it on the sandbox right now - not sure.

The PDF receipt currently uses the on-line template here - http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/messageTemplates/add?action=update&id=7&reset=1

I think you do need a small custom module to provide a couple of tokens to give you the French words in the second one of these requirements but you may well be able to meet the first with what is already easily available
