Does user change his data from front-end?
October 15, 2010, 05:48:19 am
Hi. I use joomla.
I have an association where each person has a personal code.

I'm working to the website where I would like to create a registration page for associates, after this the associates can create thier own profiles to fill in a form (Civi CRM).
I have customed a Civi CRM profile with a custom field (Code).

Now the users can register but, after fill in a Civi CRM form for their own profiles, some information don't appear on back end Civi CRM personal page.
I have also added a link to modify their personal data but on front end tells that everything is record but on backend there is nothing..

Can some help me?

thanks
Walter

Sorry... I see that for each modify, from front end on user page, Civi CRM creates a new contact (same user with another ID) but I would like tha an user can update their own data.

How can I do?

Thanks

You can expose a profile with "edit" mode. So when user click on this profile it will be pre-filled with current data which he can change / update.

I added on menu the link with "edit" mode, but from front end when I click on it I have:

"Profile search, view and edit are not supported for Profiles which include fields for more than one record type."

This means you have field of more than one record types. ie. Individual + Organization, Individual + Components etc. If you remove other fields it should show the profile correctly.

Yes, you can change address fields that are exposed in profile.

I cannot find the way to do it.
A user must write all data at first visit but than he can change only some information.
