Is there support for front-end users to enter Activities?
October 19, 2010, 02:25:05 pm
Hello,

just a short question. Getting deeper into civicrm trying to use it as a crm, interacting with our clients I would like to have user activities reported/added from the frontend. A possible activity should be asking us invite other potential clients (relatives) for a menbership as part of a bonus system. Along with this activity it should also be possible to automatically send out an invitation e-mail to the invited.

Problem is, that I can't get any acitivity custom profile update user acounts by adding activities. It's always ending in a database constraint error.

Since this function would be very important to us I would like to ask if anyone knows a way to acomplish that.

Thanks in advance,
digitracer

OK, found out that the "Tell a Friend" function is usable for that.

Trying to do that I found another strange behavior that seems to be generally evident on our Joomla civicrm installations: If I try to setup a menu link in Joomla for events I cant chose any of the defined events. There is nothing to be chosen from the selectorbox in mod_menu. Setting up an event on the civicrm demo site, everything works just fine.
If have tested settings on localhost and production server - there I always get the same "nothing to select" issue.

Is there anyone who has got any clue to maybe give me a hint on that?

Thanks a lot,
digitracer
