I'm going to setup and QA test
October 20, 2010, 12:03:06 pm
I'm going to install one of the later alpha versions and spend a few solid hours testing it.  I had discussed some QA efforts, but no concrete plans were made.  I'll just jump right in myself anyway...

I'll post the results here in general, and specifically in the Issue tracker.

I did my preliminary testing.  I'm going to continue testing with Import and Export testing in Beta2.  I did find 4 bugs, some more serious than others, most importantly this one: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-7099

1. site was originally a 3.2.beta5 site
2. upgraded next to 3.2.4
3. upgraded recently to 3.3.beta1 (2nd upgrade since initial install)
4. CentOS 5 VPS server

upgrade
1. no errors
2. white 'quick search' box not visible after upgrade, had to reload browser to see it

basic functions
1. add new individual - success
2. delete individual - success
3. search by organization, individual or name - success
4. pagination working properly - success
5. create membership type - success
6. create custom data group and field - success
7. create profile - success
   a. add standard field
   b. add custom field
   c. make some fields required
8. create contribution page - success
   a. payment processor created
   b. 2 profiles added to contribution pages
   c. thank you are receipting configured
   d. add membership to page
   e. process transaction
   f. membership and contribution created
9. find and memberships - success
   a. membership search working
   b. membership edited
   c. status override works
   d. renewal works (did not test by credit card)
   e. deleted membership
10. activities - success
   a. search by
      i. status
      ii. type
      iii. date
11. message templates (system workflow) - success

I have installed 3.3.beta3 over the 3.3.beta1 installation

The upgrade was a success.  All basic functions seem to be working, although I didn't go in detail through the whole list you see above.

However, I did expand my testing to Importing:

1. ran a Contact import
2. ran a Participants import (matching email to Contacts from step #1)
3. ran an Activities import (matching email to Contact from #1)

I then ran a Contact import with "fill" and "update" and changed data in the contacts in #1, again matching to email.

All were a success except for a small bug regarding Participant Status Id in #2, which I have reported
