***HELP*** Send a message to ALL contacts
October 20, 2010, 04:16:29 pm
Hi,

I would like to know if there is a variable (i.e. %all%, *, etc...) to send a message to all contacts from a normal (no admin) account.

Thanks in advance for your help-

Regards,
Peter.

The user would need to have permission to access CiviCRM - but that's by design.

What's the problem you are trying to solve or use case you intend?  Joomla or Drupal?

Hi FatherShawn!

Thanks for your answer :)

I need to know if it is possible that a normal user account (no admin) can be able to send a message to all his contacts using a wildcard variable (i.e. %all%, *, etc...) without giving permission to access CiviCRM (Joomla and Drupal).

Thanks,
Peter.

Well, in Drupal, you can give a user "view all contacts" permission without giving other permissions.  That might work, but again I don't know the problem you are trying to solve.

In Joomla, I'm fairly certain that only backend users could send email to contacts.  But I haven't worked with a Joomla install of civi for a while.

thanks, but your idea is not working here.

I simply need to know if there is a wildcard/variable to send a message to all contacts. same thing should work to add all contacts

regards,
Peter.
