CiviCRM Community Forums (archive)

We are an activist organization in Colorado with 5 current chapter locations.  Currently we have about 200 paid members and 2000 people on our mailing list and hope that this will grow by one or more orders of magnitude.

What would be some suggested roles to assign?

I am the technical coordinator with maybe a couple of trusted assistants.
There is a Program Administrator which should be able to do everything from an operational user perspective.
Perhaps local chapters could administer their own contacts and activities.
A few people might view but not make changes.
Maybe a few relatively trusted people could help with the contact updates.

I do have the sample data loaded.

Suggestions where to start?

I'm a little confused between drupal and civicrm functions since I've never used drupal before civicrm, but here is where I started:

In Home / Administer / User Management / Roles
I created a role called "Asst Admin"

Then in Home / Administer / User Management / Access Control
I don't know what most of this stuff even is so -
Checked all for CiviCRM module
Checked all for User Module

Is this a good place to start for an Asst Admin / high level user type?
