civicrm tables missing on "restore"
October 26, 2010, 07:34:15 pm
I recently had a server issue that required the OS to be re-installed.  I started with the old drive & data as a slave. One website was based on joomla with civicrm in single data base. It was working fine prior to the rebuild.  I copied the old httpdocs directory for the site to the new server and moved the mysql data folder from one drive to the new one and restored the site. the joomla portion works fine again.

However, When I tried to access civicrm, I get an error the tables don't exist.  In checking the db with phpmyadmin,  it's true you can't see any civicrm tables in phpmyadmin I am assuming I should. When I look in the database folder there are many civicrm files.  I have php 5.2.14.  phpmyadmin says innodb is available as an engine.  the joomla tables that do restore are myisam (if that matters).  I expect this is something simple I am missing but i have googled & browsed forums at some length and can't find a similar issue.

Thanks,
Wes

That's more a mysql question, than CiviCRM itself. Something went wrong on recovery, it might be connected to the fact that some tables are myisam and some are innodb, as you noticed. Might be good to consult recovery procedure that you used on some mysql forum.

Thx,
m

yeah -- if you're not seeing the tables, it's not really a civi issue, but a mysql problem.
maybe the information_schema table got corrupted or didn't import correctly?
