How to create custom email templates ?
November 23, 2007, 02:01:11 am
Hi,
I am a new user of CiviCRM, and found it good.

Could anyone please guide me in creating email templates in CiviCRM. I want to create custom headers, footers, message body, and want to use them as needed during email creation.

Regards,

pharrukh.

Go to CiviMail → Headers, Footers, and Automated Messages → New Mailing Component and then select the type from the Component Type drop-down.
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

thanks Piotr Szotkowski.

I created some components and tried to send an email after composing in the 'Send Mailing'. But i am getting an error in the 3rd and 4th steps of send mailing.

In the 3rd step, i get the following error.

ave permission to access /
on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at AppStuff Port 80

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Via: 1.1 PROXY
Connection: Keep-Alive
Proxy-Connection: Keep-Alive
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2007 11:56:23 GMT
Content-Type: text/html
Server: Apache
X-Powered-By: ModLayout/3.2.1
Cache-Control: no-cache
Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100

If luckily i cross the 3rd step, it starts giving error in 4th step. It is not sending a test email in the 4th step and showing an error.

Please guide me in this issue.

Regards,
pharrukh.

check your directory settings at:

administer civicrm >> global settings >> directories

specifically the file upload directory. i suspect that has an invalid path

hi ..

thnx for guiding ..
there are four fields on that page .. the last field Custom Templates is empty by default. And the above three fields are populated as follows ..

Temporary Files: ...../drupal/files/civicrm/upload/

Images: ...../drupal/files/civicrm/persist/contribute/

Custom Files: ...../drupal/files/civicrm/custom/

Could you please tell me which of these four fields needs to be corrected ?

Regards,
pharrukh.
