It's possible to register to 'attend' an "Event Template"!!!

I'm able to reproduce this on the 3.2 demo site.

Steps to reproduce:
  • Create or edit an Event Template so the template has an Event Title of (say) "test"
  • Visit the Events tab of a contact record and click Add Event Registration
  • The Event Template is listed in the Event dropdown!!! (eg, "test - November 1st, 2010 12:39PM")
  • Select the event template and register the contact as an attendee
  • The contact's event list shows they are 'attending' the Event Template

I assume this is because Event Templates are stored in the civicrm_event table, but the logic for generating the dropdown, and the logic for adding a participant do not check the value of is_template. I suspect both pieces of code need changing.

Have filed  http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-7014 for the same in 3.2.5
