Hello, in follow-up to this thread:

I then found this thread from years ago:

which helped greatly, but the only issue is, no matter what I choose to grab the participantId by, it is empty. I created an error_log vardump of the value for $this->_participantId immediately after it is assigned in the preProcess function in CRM/Event/Form/Registration.php and it is already empty. Either I'm missing something or the value of participantId is not even being set higher up.
