CiviMail not sending scheduled mail, but I can send email elsewhere in Civicrm
November 04, 2010, 02:35:59 pm
I have civicrm 2.2.6 setup within Drupal 6
and am not able to send scheduled email, though I can send email from elsewhere in the system.

I set up the civimail cron job (with key, etc)
When I run it from a browser - not from cron ( http://www.website.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/bin/civimail.cronjob.php?name=admin&pass=XXXXX&key=XXXXXX )

I get a white screen, but all of the mail in the scheduling queue says "Complete" now.....
But no email is sent. I believe that I set up the cron correctly, and correctly configured for the key and password (why civicrm is forcing us to send passwords via http requests one will never know.....)

Interestingly, email is successfully sent through the system by doing this instead:

A. In CiviCRM home,
1. Search (either Quick Search, or Advanced Search or Find Contacts
under Menu) to find a group or an individual to send an email to
2. Then it'll show us a result. I click on one of the results (or several) then
I go to the drop down menu, select 'Send Email to Contacts' then I press
'Go'.
3. I enter subject message etc.
4. Click 'Send Email' and it will send out an email.

Problem with just using that all the time is that we cannot schedule the email

Anybody out there that might be able to help with the issue?

dont know the answer to your questions, but in recent versions (3.2 for sure), you can:

1. send the name / password via a POST

2. also use the community supported cli.php script to run the bin scripts via php cli

Hi,

This chapter should help you
http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/SystemConfiguration

I'd recommend you to upgrade your installation, a lot of improvements have been made since the version you are using.
