500 Internal Server Error

I've searched around and around and haven't been able to find anything that helps.

Drupal is installed using a Fantastico script on BlueFur.com.

I have loaded uncompressed the civicrm files to the proper directory.

I am logged into Drupal as the administrator.

When I try to run the install I get the 500 Internal Server error and I haven't found anything in the directory to help.

If you get such an error, you need to ask your host to provide you with the error log or otherwise provide you with the error message generated internally. Only with that would it be possible to determine what the problem is.

try commenting out lines in the .htaccess file in the drupal folder

i had this and after commenting out the php settings changes, the -indexes and the +symlinks settings, it worked fine.
