Hey guys,

I'm stepping in to an administrative role for a CiviCRM installation with thousands of duplicates. We've solved the issue moving forward by correctly configuring our dupe rules, but we're now faced with the daunting task of merging all these contacts.

Doing it through the user interface is not effective, as it's very time-consuming.

I am looking to build a script to take care of it on the backend, based on some rules for contact preference, but before I began I wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas or if something like this has already been built.

If not, I'll post to the forum once I'm all done.
