Civicrm / Drupal Data Field and Form Issue

I have the cell phone field displaying on the drupal registration page as a non-required field.  If you enter the phone number in the field and click save, the field appears blank after saving. However, if you go into the Civicrm profile form the data has actually been saved.

Any ideas?
