Dashboard data does NOT get automatically refreshed
November 12, 2010, 11:23:05 am
I am using CiviCRM 3.2.4 and Drupal 6.19.

Permissions are set so that an authenticated user should NOT see the Dashboard data.

The Dashboard https://test.mysite.edu/?q=civicrm/dashboard does not get automatically refreshed for an authenticated user.

I login as an admin, and view the dashboard; then when I login in as an authenticated user, I can still see the dashboard for an admin.

Only when I press the “refresh dashboard” button, it refreshes and then the authenticated user cannot access the dashboard data.

Is this a bug? Please advice as how to fix.

Thanks
ND ???

Each user has their own dashboard setup stored in the DB - so I'm not sure how you're getting this behavior?? Are you possibly using the browser back button to get back to the page that you loaded as admin (in which case your browser has cached the page)? Also, if you changed the permissions for your authenticated user since the last time you logged in (i.e. removed permissions) - then I think the refresh is needed to update the dashboard and reflect the permission changes. Of course the authenticated user would generally not have the right to change their own permissions and this case shouldn't be happening in production IMO.

If neither of these explain what you're seeing, you'll need to provide exact steps / configuration of drupal permissions and dashboard dashlets / permissions.
