Template Not Showing up When Creating New Event

First off, I must apologize for my ignorance. I am new to CiviCRM and not an IT person at all. However, I am tasked with updating the online event calendar for my company.

I created an event template for a repeating event. According to a resource I found on this website, when I go in to create a new event, there should be a box that asks if there is a template I want to use, and if so, which one. However, this box with the drop down menu is not appearing when I try to create a new event. I know the template is still there because I checked, but can't locate where to say that I want to use the template, then manually fill in the rest of my information.

Can you help? Thank you!!!!

Welcome :-)
First make sure your event template is "Active". Active status displays on right side of your event template list (Events -> Event Templates on your menu).

If so, when you click Events -> New Event from the menu, the first field on that form should be a drop-down "From Template". I've attached a screenshot of this from the demo.

Hi you may also need to confirm what version civicrm you are using as templates hasn't always been around afaik
