When I look at import for relation it looks like it works nicely for creating relations to people, e.g. parent, sibling, boss. But if I want to create say employee of and then have it match an organization, there doesn't seem to be a matching field type.

So does the matching fields like last name* also match to organizations? Or does one have to do it the other way and do an update import to the organization and then match Employer of to name*.

Or can the external id be used. If I make the external id that of the organization on the import file and match to that would that work?

hey - the above does work - import the individuals with a column of the Org Name. then set that field at the bottom of the select box to 'employee of' and then set the next option to be Org Name.

And yes i suspect you can import for the Org using the Org Internal ID.
