Chinese characters in mailing Subject
November 17, 2010, 07:12:02 pm
It seems that we can only enter a maximum of 8 Chinese characters in the Subject line.  Anything more and the whole Subject line will be blanked out in the actual email sent out.  Suspect that there are some issues with the routine that checks the length of the Subject line.

Please help!

Thanks,
Richard

Hello Richard,

You might want to give some sample subjects, which might help us to debug.

thanks,
kiran

does that subject works for 'Send an Email' functionality ?

You could find this from Contact Summary or Find Contact -> Search -> actions -> Send Email To Contacts.

Also does not work on "Send an email" activity for individual contacts.

E.g. "香港香港香港香港" is ok, but "香港香港香港香港香" is not ok (Subject will be blank).

Thanks!

Hi Kiran,

Not sure exactly what you are looking for.  It is a fairly standard setup and we are using Qmail.

Thanks!

Btw, I wrote a PHP program to send out an email using Qmail on localhost:25 and it is ok.  The subject comes out correctly.
